All about Desi-ness…Hitchki, The Indian Restaurant!
“There is no sincere love than the love of Food! ” – George Bernard Shaw
If you are missing out on the authentic Bollywood feel around you, well…the wait is now over! Dine at Hitchki, a perfect blend between contemporary and traditional Indian food that will surely satisfy your palette.
The Menu
Due to the pandemic, the trend of menu copies is now long forgotten and one needs to scan a code to view. Similarly at Hitchki, once you scan the QR code, there are two menus you can view…a beverage and food menu. The beverage menu and the food menu is all about the names they have innovated. A creative blend of the name which surely justifies the explanation it offers.
How was the food??
We ordered two dishes, the best part about their dishes are that it is served with a bread which compliments the dish well (If you remember, my previous post where I talk about this unique method of upselling).
Bling Bling Chicken a super succulent chicken preparation in tomato gravy with bell peppers. This is served with Churra roti, which I think did complete justice to the chicken. A delicious dish plated on a blackboard in a small handi. This was the server’s recommendation and was supposed to be served with lights which apparently added the bling and that was missing!!
How’s the Josh is an in-bone mutton preparation, plated in a small earthen pot served with naan. The aromatic-spicy tomato-based gravy was a better choice than the chicken dish.
Our Experience??
A very popular restaurant following all Covid related rules and regulations. The safety extended is at par and good enough for the paranoid me! The taste of both dishes was unique in its own way and you would need to order additional bread for the serving they offer.
The service was pretty slow, although we were told that the food may take 20 minutes, I believe it took a little longer. Even if you need additional bread, please don’t forget to order way in advance because the wait may kill your appetite. The plating and presentation of each dish are distinctive and are a must-try! All in all, a great choice of restaurant for Indian food craving, although they offer a few other cuisines too, however, it’s a perfect combination of good food and beverages infused with creative gastronomical concepts.
