Festival Feasting…Simple and unique ways to DETOX!
“A healthy outside starts from the inside!”
Why does one need to purify the body of “Toxins”? Why do you need to give your body a break? The festival season can be tough on your body. Lack of exercising..excessive food outside….feasts with family members…alcohol consumption…sweets in all forms….are major reasons that you need to DETOX! Let me share a few easy ways of detoxing wherein you may feel good from within and believe me..it’s not that hard!
An alternative for sweets…..start consuming fruits …anything that is easily available and accessible. For me, I feel blueberries or strawberries really pump up my mood and I don’t end up eating sweets. After a long festive time, our body tends to crave desserts… sweets or chocolates after meals but fruits are a perfect way forward.
Water!! All you need are various sources of water or water itself. If you can’t drink a minimum of 10 tall glasses of water in a day then find alternatives. I am a poor water drinker so I fill large jugs with half sliced cucumber along with one tablespoon of chia seeds. This concoction with water if allowed to stay for a few hours is a perfect drink for your body. It not only helps to detox but also has numerous health benefits.
Lemon…A slice of lemon a day whether in water or raw is a perfect detox method. Take a break from wines or spirits and have mocktails or drinks with a hint of lemon. Fill a glass with your favorite soda and add freshly squeezed lemon juice to it.
Sweat it out!… This is one of the most crucial aspects of detox…if you can’t push yourself to the gym, exercise at home for at least 30 minutes. I am a huge fan of the Emi Wong exercise method, it’s an amazing workout for the complete body. Do push yourself to a healthy lifestyle and Detox!
