Internships or Volunteer Work…Their role in the corporate world!
Corporate World….Survival of the Fittest!
Does it really help to be a part of volunteer work or internships even though you have experience and carry a great CV with numerous accreditations…if you ask me…Yes! I strongly believe there is no age assigned for any work. But there are other factors which I really wanted to put forward.
I know this blog is very different from my regulars, but I recently came across a situation that made me ponder the necessity of “Internships” and “Volunteer work”. I was part of various volunteer assignments in India, but I believe that is what we call “CSR”. However, I noticed that here in Dubai, Volunteering is an entity on its own. And, if I may say….that is how it should be!
I would like to mention a few points which is as per my analysis that “Yes” its important to once in a while get into volunteering or Intern with a company for a few months;
- Looking for a job? Try looking for an internship as per your preference, this not only helps you venture into a new segment but gives you an upper hand in deciding whether this opportunity or role is suitable for you.
- You never know, an internship can help you land your dream job. Your work can get recognized without you promising the organization anything. A win-win situation for you! What do you think?
- Make an effort and get into volunteering, leave your CV and wait for their response. Believe me, it will work. If you show an organization that yes, you value the task assigned and would put your soul into it…why would they not consider you?
Do give these points a thought, it may change your perspective as it changed mine!
Volunteer and then let others follow you!
