Luxury in the World of Kerastase!
“Kerastase” although founded years ago, has now become a household name. A slightly expensive brand but does vouch for effective hair treatment and styling. Kerastase offers expert-level hair care which is as per the hair type and as per the damage control one is considering.
This brand believes in diagnosing the underlying issue and offers treatment after a thorough evaluation. Their website has a unique method wherein they would ask a certain questions and then recommend their products accordingly.
For me, I researched a product on their website (and read a few reviews) as per the hair concern I was facing without filing in the questionnaire, and definitely, their product is “Magical”.
Why Kerastase?
I have tried numerous hair care treatments such as smoothening, hair spas’ …even along with their respective power doses, Keratin hair treatment, Botox hair treatment, etc. But with all these treatments comes additional hair care so that the treatment on your hair actually stays effective.
My hair type falls in the category of extremely dry and damaged. I do not have dandruff but yes slight hair fall. Apparently, Keratin is an effective solution for dry damaged hair but unfortunately, it did not suit my hair at all. In fact, it felt like a regular Hair spa for a few days, and then it started wearing off.
So recently, I read a lot about Botox treatment for hair and after extreme researching and numerous visits to salons with my questions, I finally gave it a try. Botox treatment is somewhat similar to keratin hair treatment however, the latter has hair protein literally added to your roots. This Keratin when seeps into your roots via hot iron gives the shine and straightness that damaged hair needs. On the other hand, Botox treatment is a much simpler method that adds coat to the damaged sections of your hair giving it the look you actually need, and Yes! it straightens your hair much more effectively (Gives the hair smoothening effect). Another plus point is that Botox treatment is chemical-free which really is what damaged hair requires.
So with Botox, my salon suggested I should buy an Olaplex bundle which is a very recent product in the market. Now, I had to make my choice soon, whether it will be a regular sulfate-free or paraben-free product or should I invest in an extremely expensive Olaplex bundle.
My Review!
I chose none of them and moved towards L ‘Oreal. This has been my go-to for a very long time, in fact, it’s always been my favorite brand since it gained our trust long ago with multiple hair treatment products.. shampoos..masks, etc. Hence, I decided to try Kerastase (Kerastase is a part of the L ‘Oreal Professional products Division). I did not splurge on all their products immediately but started with the serum initially.
Kerastase Elixir Ultime L ‘Huile Original Hair Oil is a blessing for frizzy and dry treated hair. You could use a regular (Sulphate and paraben-free) shampoo and conditioner post hair treatment however, this hair serum/oil is a must. It’s super lightweight and just 2 drops are what you need. It not only adds the shine but the smoothness is worth it. The hair does not look greasy at all, in fact, it does look alive and has a bounce. It is slightly expensive yet if there is a choice between Olaplex or Kerastase, I urge you to try Kerastase.
