The Taste of Tradition- Sikka Café, La Mer!

Sikka Café, a local homegrown restaurant that gives the taste of the most unique cultures prevailing in Dubai. This restaurant serves the most flavorful dishes from Emirati, Arabic, Indian and Persian cuisine.

Sikka Café is located right at La Mer beach with well-designed indoor and outdoor seating areas. We had visited this spectacular restaurant on an occasion and they offered us a pre-planned three-course menu with non-alcoholic beverages for dinner.

Well, to begin with, the first course, was a meal in itself. The appetizers with a cold mezze platter were not only a treat for my eyes but delicious. Not to miss, the first course was accompanied by “Saudi Champagne”. It was a beautiful lemon yellow-colored drink with the aroma of lemon and honey (although this drink is made of apple juice, oranges, lemon, mint springs, and lemonade. They do tend to add an aerated beverage too).

I was almost full with the first course but it was too hard to resist the rest that was served to us. I felt that the first two courses were very Middle Eastern till they offered the dessert. And, oh! it was blissful. They served us a “Rose milk cake”. This was the most delectable soft vanilla sponge topped with Chantilly cream and very Indian.

In addition to the regular café feel, they also offer Shisha to their guests, so if you only consider shisha and some appetizers, it is quite reasonably priced according to the market.
